The purpose of LYCYA Marketplace is to favor transactions between users who want to provide a service or product and those who want to purchase it. To achieve this, it is essential that they feel part of a community, a strategy followed by Love Your Community & Youth Association.
LYCYA Community Gardens is a network of community gardeners and rural farmers committed to growing and maintaining gardens in and around Washington County, Alabama and to increasing access to fresh produce for everyone. We pool our resources, knowledge, and labor to make this vision a reality.
LYCYA is excited to honor individuals that have paved the way in our local communities. If you would like to nominate an outstanding past or present community member that has transformed your community in a positive way, please send us an email. These members will be recognized at our annual awards banquet, and their stories will forever live in our LYCYA Community Heroes Book.
LYCYA is looking to partner with local technology companies to enhance computer skills and knowledge for our youth and adults. At LYCYA, we understand the importance of technology and how it enhances our community, youth and society.
At LYCYA, we believe that youth who participates in mentoring programs are found to have an improvement in their self-esteem, capacity for understanding and comfort with members of other races, and the ability to form and sustain relationships with other adults. In addition to making better-informed decisions about their career.
Moreover, such programs can also lead to a rise in school attendance.
Evidence suggests that having a non-familial adult present in the lives of at-risk children may prove to be beneficial, strengthening their resiliency and propelling them toward success. This, in turn, enables the members of a community to maintain and strengthen it, whilst also providing mentors with a fresh outlook and the ability to help another individual to learn and grow.
